It will soon be time for the next installment of the now-legendary TOPHOTELWORLDTOUR event. This time, on March 8th, the event will be held in the Pullman Berlin Schweizerhof Hotel in the German capital. It promises to be an action-packed day, so we take a look inside the event to see what’s in store.

Networking and Panel Discussion
The TOPHOTELWORLDTOUR events are a day-long conference in some of the world’s leading destinations in the most luxurious hotels. Professionals from all corners of the industry gather together to make new friends and colleagues and to build relationships in a laid-back yet informative environment. The day kicks off at 9am with a welcome reception and a few words by the organisers to familiarise the attendees with the format. One of the biggest features of the day is the Change Table Session, of which there will be eight 20 minute networking opportunities throughout the day, enabling delegates to meet as many industry experts as possible. The Change Table Sessions is a speed-networking strategy that encourages attendees to come away from the event with as many business cards as possible so that they can widen their professional circle, as well as have fun. At 10.20am it will be time for one of the day’s highlights, a panel discussion on the topic of technology and operations, entitled “Tech it or leave it: How to tackle hotel cost management?”, the participants of which will be Andrea Belfanti from the International Society of Hospitality Consultant, Tea Ros from Strategic Hotel Consulting and Wilhelm K. Weber of SHS Swiss Hospitality Solutions. The panel discussions always prove to be an engaging and informative portion of the day, and, as usual, we expect there to be some healthy debate around the topic.

Keynote Presentations
Another part of the day that people always look forward to are the keynote presentations, and the Berlin event will not disappoint. Early in the morning, Christopher Barrat from Greystone Consulting will give his presentation on Networking – Tips and Tricks, and a second presentation on Hospitality and Innovation will be given by Omer Isvan from Servotel will take place at 11.55am. Before the lunch break, TOPHOTELPROJECTS very own Rolf W. Schmidt will give a keynote presentation on Hospitality Development DACH – Big Projects and Big Players and the final presentation of the day will be held at 15.55pm on the topic of Economy Development by Christian Ott-Sessay from Horwath HTL. Lots to look forward to in all of these great keynote addresses.

Creative Spark
One of the most enjoyable portions of the TOPHOTELWORLDTOUR event is always the Creative Spark section, where three hotels battle it out for the award for the best design. This time the contenders are Pullman Berlin Schweizerhof Hotel, where the event is being held, the Corinthia Hotel Brussels and Fraser Hospitality. The projects will be presented by members of the design team, including Irina & Olga Sundukovy from Sundukovy Sisters, GA Design and Peter Joehnk & Corinna Kretschmar-Joehnk from JOI-Design, who will be representing the hotels respectively. Celine Bonner from AEDAS will round up the Creative Spark session and the winner will be announced at 16.35pm, before the day winds up with a tour of the hotel and a drinks session in the hotel bar.
