Darrell Long is a Partner and Design Director in the Los Angeles office of Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA). World-renowned as the “Number 1 Hospitality Design Firm” by Interior Design and honored by the Gold Key Awards, Hospitality Design Awards, International Hotel Awards, Society of British Interior Design Awards and the European Hotel Design Awards, HBA has been creating one-of-a-kind interiors since 1965 and now employees more than 1,700 designers around the globe in 27 offices. Creating the signature looks of today′s luxury brands, independent contemporary boutique hotels, urban resorts, spas, world-class residences, restaurants, and casinos, each HBA interior is the result of a unique and sensitive response to location, architecture, and client vision.
Darrell has practiced interior design for 25 years, earning bachelor’s degrees from Old Dominion University and Virginia Commonwealth University. On a day-to-day basis, Darrell oversees the design direction of his team’s projects while leading the group’s dynamic designers. His team focuses on Modernist principals rooted in the contemporary and the technological, and has taken on projects from every point of the globe.
His experience in design is extensive and covers hospitality, retail, and recreation. Recent major projects include Hilton Hotels & Resorts Design Brand Standards, Niccolo Chongqing, China; The Dream Resort in Palm Springs, California; Hilton Buena Park in Orange County California, and Hilton Wenchang Resort in Wenchang, China.
