Kelvin Ip is a Project Director at Horwath HTL Shanghai. Trained as an all-rounded hotelier in different hotel operational roles in his early career, he transitioned into a consulting role with focuses on hotel investment risk evaluation, hotel performance review and asset management, and tourism master plan development and land-use planning. In recent years, Kelvin has demonstrated his expertise in tourism master plan projects which include destination positioning and identifying best-use hotel and leisure components in major destinations such as Beijing Mentougou, Hangzhou downtown and Qiandao Lake, Liaoning Benxi, Taiwan Hsinchu and Chiayi, Suzhou Xishan and Jiangsu Qidong. Kelvin has also been responsible for delivering a strategic advisory report for a major hotel management company as well as hotel asset management services for major real estate developers in China.
He holds a bachelor degree in Hotel Tourism Management and Marketing from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prior to joining Horwath HTL, Kelvin worked as a Management Trainee in Swire Hotels responsible for hotel operation in key department across properties in China, Hong Kong and the UK as well as pre-opening one of the hotels in China.
